This has to be the best, well written easy to comprehend guide for even novice programmers to get down & ubsy with c21 https://beej.us/guide/bgc/html/index-wide.html Beej, dude, tip off the hat on this. you make it look easy. THe trademark of any master of their domain. SO why should I care and learn C? This is gonna sound weird, pitching for a book on C programming at x-mas, but hear me out. Like most people who have used and/or use C, I am used to the c99 variant, and while I cannot appreciate ease and comfort it brought to programming properly as I do not come from the ye’ guard of the 70s and stuff. That said, Beej writes his book about c21, the new standard. Pretty much any C programmer will agree that the ease of expressing to the computer what you want it to do increases with eavh modern standard. First of all, look at all your electronic devices with microchips and now understand almost none of them owuld work without C, and likely be lesser versions of themselves at best. C is dubbed portable assembler for a very good reason: IT allows other assemblers, from othe processors to define functions adhereing to stadndard libc norms and functionality and abstract it’s assembler int a set of very well defined functions and then humns liek us can just call those by name - no matter the CPU. It is hard to overstte the significance of this, really. It almost cannot be overstated. And it is FREE!:) What can learning or re-learning do for me? I think we best explore how I got here, and merge some of how and what drove me here, because anecdotes say more than the sum of their words. These anecdotes are almost in reverse order ending with where and how I first took up C. I use these because simply stating what going through the motions enables in you: A monster that eats, digests and uses knowledge to gain super villain powers. I think if I just said turning to C can give you super powers or some shit, tha would not be sufficent for most, but it almost can: It can give you powers as a biproduct of working with it that make you stand out where others do not and, excel doing it. So to illustrate, let me bring int my story, because I will argue that while you might not gain super powers, you certainly will gain super villain power. But to tell it in evne in the shortest, key moments wil have to be another, lenghty article, which I may or may not post.
