You should try sharpening your pencil and darkening the lines. It will most likely look better. I mean clearly defining the shape of the face and the eyes. For that you have to get the curves in one go. You're at the part where your progress is similar to the behaviour of the logarithm close after zero. The following comments are just suggestions. Don't take them to seriously if you don't see the merit in them. I would recommend to shade deliberately. Actually doing everything deliberately. I can see from your drawing that after finishing the linework, you thought something among the lines of: "And now I just need to fill in the black shapes." Be clean. Use a single line direction or follow the contour of the shape like inkers do. There are many different techniques, but the scribbly circles look bad. I had many times when I wasn't drawing for many consecutive months. It's simply about not quitting. I've noticed that you made the hat too small. How would that fit onto his head? The arrow saying "Red" would be more believable if the value of that hat was darker. Red is rather dark. Your eye just interprets it as lighter and more important because of evolution. It also contains proportion charts that display the proportions of the human body during different stages of mans or womens life.
