This ongoing transformation is creating enormous opportunities but also brings huge challenges. MEDIA PARCOURS: Tunisian media look to the future The first three Tunisian media startups and outlets have completed the media acceleration program MEDIA PARCOURS, part of DW Akademie’s SMART MEDIA ACCELERATOR program. Media Loves Tech: Impact stories MEDIA LOVES TECH is the name and the idea behind this project that got underway in 2018. The goal is to bring together two worlds that are often too far apart: journalism and the startup community. In Tunisia, the MEDIA LOVES TECH startup ecosystem grows The sixth edition of DW Akademie’s media start-up incubation program has ended. Five Tunisian startups completed the journey and are now part of the MEDIA LOVES TECH network. DW Akademie’s first "Pop-Up Think Tank" opens in Tunis In January 2023, DW Akademie is opening the "Pop Up Think Tank" in central Tunis in a space designed for co-working, brainstorming, discussion and exchange. On the same wavelength as the youth: Rap music and radio discussion formats in Bolivia Musicians and community radio stations have joined forces to get young Bolivians interested in environmental and social issues. DW Akademie’s partner CEPRA is using rap to launch discussion formats on the radio. "Digital Innovations for Peace" combines new technologies and trainings to fight information disorder in the MENA region Disinformation and hate speech cause harm to democratic principles in the Middle East and North Africa. Innovation for Dialogue Media Dialogue in Mexico: Journalists face up to the challenges of disinformation Journalists from Mexico and Central America met in a Media Dialogue, organized by DW Akademie together with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, to analyze the regional media landscape around elections. MediaLab Fest in Bolivia: Festival for journalistic innovation products At the festival marking the end of the MediaLab diploma course, participants presented protypes to meet audiences' interests and information needs and to ensure their outlets' financial viability. Breaking the silence - Innovative narratives raise the visibility of enforced disappearance victims Técnicas Rudas, with the support of DW Akademie, promotes the project Narratives and Memories of Disappearance to destigmatize the families of victims of enforced disappearance in Mexico.
